  • Tony Thurmond and Renaissance Learning, Inc. Give the FREE Gift of Literacy this Holiday Season

    As part of CA State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond's, literacy initiative to get all California students reading by third grade by 2026, the CDE has partnered with Renaissance Learning, Inc. to ensure that every student can access thousands of reading resources from December 1, 2021, to January 31, 2022, via the myON digital library.   • Winners announced for the 2022 Science Odyssey Logo Contest

    Winners have been selected in each age category for the 2022 Science Odyssey Logo Contest. Nearly 300 designs were submitted and top designs were selected in the following categories: Grades K-2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8 and Grades 9-12. One design was also selected as the overall winning design that will be featured as the 2022 Science Odyssey sticker.   • LVJUSD Launches YouthBuild Program, a Second Chance for Students

    LVJUSD YouthBuild hosted an open house for its new facility located at the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) Maintenance, Operations, and Facilities campus on Ladd Avenue in Livermore. District staff, LVJUSD Board trustees, and community partners were able to tour the construction classroom, computer lab, and offices; meet with some of the 19 students from YouthBuild’s inaugural class; and share in the excitement for the launch of this new program.   • Livermore High Students Build Air Purifiers With the Help of Community Partners

    In collaboration with Quest Science Center, the Engineering Design and Development class of the Green Engineering Academy (GEA) at Livermore High School participated in a design challenge to build, evaluate, test, document, and present results for a low-cost air purifier that addresses requirements for healthy indoor air filtration.   • Livermore Students Celebrate International Walk and Roll to School Day

    Clear skies and sunshine provided the ideal morning for the students and families of the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) as they walked, biked, scootered, and skated their way to school in celebration of International Walk and Roll to School Day on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. Every October, this day serves as an opportunity for students, families, and the community to come together in the name of reducing traffic, improving air quality, and most importantly, having fun through exercise.

  • LVJUSD Framework for Success

    The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District uses a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) - a comprehensive framework that aligns academic, behavioral, and social emotional learning - to meet the needs of all students in our district. Under the umbrella of the LVJUSD framework, the three components that address students’ needs are Academics, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), and Social Emotional Learning (SEL).

  • Choose Love

    All students in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District are participating in the Choose Love social emotional learning curriculum during the 2018-19 school year. Students learn the Choose Love Formula: Courage + Gratitude + Forgiveness + Compassion in Action = Choosing Love Formula.

    Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) is an award-winning district that serves more than 13,900 students in transitional kindergarten through 12th grade at nine elementary campuses, two K-8 schools, three middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, and two alternative schools. Livermore Schools offer specialized progams including International Baccalaureate Programmes, Green Engineering Academy, Dual Immersion Program and Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) pathways.
