  • Livermore Schools Join Funding Awareness Week

    Livermore Schools are joining with other schools and districts in Alameda County and throughout California to participate in Fund Education Now Week (FENW), February 3 - 7, 2020. Educators and community members are raising awareness about the low level of funding for California schools and its impact on our students. Wear RED on Wednesday, February 5th to bring attention to this critical issue.

  • Enrollment & Transfer Process for 2020-2021

  • Global Play Day

    Several classes at Jackson Avenue particpated in the Global Play Day today. Students learned about physics playing Suspend pictured to the left. Students made art and crafts, others played cards, and strategic games. There were lots of outside play options as well. Students learned about inviting friends to play, how to discover for themselves to learn how to play a board game. There are many benefits from being unplugged for a period of time.   • Abilities Awareness Week

    As part of our Abilities Awareness Week, we had Mateo Musso, student with Autism, speak with our students! We learned about how we all can make a difference in supporting and making friends with everyone. Join the "I KNOW" campaign. Visit Matteo Musso website to learn more about his journey.

  • Be a Stingray Star

    Jackson Avenue's school-wide expectations are to Be Scholarly (I think about the choices I am making); Be Trustworthy (I make the same choice when an adult is looking and when they are not); Be Accepting (I am kind to the people around me); and Be Responsible (I know the school rules, I take care of the things around me, and I always do my best). We celebrate these expectations at our weekly Wednesday morning meetings before we go into the classroom. Students wear their Stingray Colors (yellow and black).

  • New Painted Playgrounds

    Eagle Scout Project Completed We have newly painted black top with colors and words to remind us of the character education traits: Trustworthy, Respect, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. Thanks to Justin Ison's Eagle Scout Project!

  • New Playgrounds for Jackson!

    Measure J funded 3 new playstructures for Jackson Avenue. Our Kindergarten play structure has chimes, bells, color wheels, and a teeter totter. The larger playground in the back has pedals, climbing sphere, slides, chimes and drums. We opened the third playground stucture this week that included American Sign Language and a small zip line. Students are excited and enjoying all the new active things to do. The field is continuing to be renovated and we hope to open this winter.

  • LVJUSD Framework for Success

    The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District uses a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) - a comprehensive framework that aligns academic, behavioral, and social emotional learning - to meet the needs of all students in our district. Under the umbrella of the LVJUSD framework, the three components that address students’ needs are Academics, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), and Social Emotional Learning (SEL).

    All students in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District are participating in the Choose Love social emotional learning curriculum during the 2018-19 school year. Students learn the Choose Love Formula: Courage + Gratitude + Forgiveness + Compassion in Action = Choosing Love Formula.
