  •  Mustang Messages 01/17/20:

    • Students, you must wear your ID card in a visible manner at all times with the exception of Woodshop and P.E.  Teachers, if a student does not have their ID card, please send them to the office.  Students, if you check out a temporary ID card more than three times in a trimester, then it will result in a detention each time you check one out.

     

    • There’s still time to participate in Science Odyssey!  Project registrations are being accepted until Friday, January 24th.  For more information stop by the office or visit livermoreschools.org/scienceodyssey. 

     

    • Are you interested in meeting new friends and joining the game club with Ms. Solomon?  If you are, then join us every Tuesday, beginning on Tuesday, January 21st.  Grab your lunch and a pass from a yard duty and come spend lunch with us playing games.  First lunch will meet in Mr. Elliot’s class in room 25 and 2nd lunch will meet in Ms. Solomon’s room.

     

    • Attention Students:  There will be no noontime activity today.

    • The 10th Annual Race to the Flagpole will be held on Saturday, January 25th.  Proceeds from this event helps to support college scholarships for scholar athletes at Granada and Livermore High schools.  Stop by the office for a registration form and more information.

    • Spelling Bee finals will be held today in the library during 3rd period.  Finalists, please report to the library immediately after the pledge.  Winners will represent Mendenhall in the district bee and possibly the county and state! Good luck to our spellers!

    • Congratulations to our Spelling Bee Finalists!
    • 6th grade finalists are:  Isaac Yee, Friedrich Hohensee and Samaira Grover. 
    • 7th grade finalists are:  Ashika Shah, Hana Kriplani, and Sophie Yuan. 
    • 8th grade finalists are:  JP Bjeletich, Erin Hileman, Sophie McInnis and Vishva Arasan. 

     

    • Spelling Bee finalists will compete in the schoolwide spelling bee which will be held tomorrow, January 14th in the library during 3rd period.  If finalists have any questions, please see Dr. Fidler in room 51.  Families are welcome to cheer on the finalists! Winners will represent Mendenhall in the district bee and possibly the county and state!

     

    • Congratulations to all our students who participated in the MathCounts competition which was held last Saturday at Granada High School.  Mendenhall did a great job.  Our MathCounts winners are:

     

    • 6th grade:  1st place Luke Bailey, 3rd place Sue Yeon Park, 4th place Friedrich Hohensee, and 5th place Brian Zhang.
    • 7th and 8th grade winners are:  3rd place Audrey Manley,  4th place Prisha Sheth,  6th place Aarav Mehta,  7th place Shaurya Guleria, and  8th place Ziad Mohammed.

     

    • Mendenhall also had two 6th grade teams make it in the top 3.  Coming in 1st place was the team of:  Friedrich Hohensee, Luke Bailey, Isaac Yee and Brian Zhang.  In 3rd place was the team of Sue Yeon Park, David Chin, Freyjaa Kirti, and Aaron Meezan.

     

    • Our 7th and 8th grade team of Prisha Sheth, Audrey Manley, Shaurya Guleria and Aarav Mehta came in 1st place in the team competition!  Congratulations!

  • LVJUSD Framework for Success

    The Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District uses a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) - a comprehensive framework that aligns academic, behavioral, and social emotional learning - to meet the needs of all students in our district. Under the umbrella of the LVJUSD framework, the three components that address students’ needs are Academics, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), and Social Emotional Learning (SEL).

    All students in the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District are participating in the Choose Love social emotional learning curriculum during the 2018-19 school year. Students learn the Choose Love Formula: Courage + Gratitude + Forgiveness + Compassion in Action = Choosing Love Formula.
