  • Dear LVJUSD Families,

    We are eagerly anticipating the start of school, and are finalizing preparations. Please review all  items in this letter to be sure we have the information we need to support your child.

    Technology Needs, Meals, and Preferences 
    Thanks to the many families who have already shared student information and needs with us by responding to the Fall 2020 Individual Student Information questionnaire. If you are still in the process of responding, please complete and submit today. We will close the form this Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

    A district Chromebook is not required for distance learning. Students will need a computer or Chromebook with access to the internet that has a microphone and a camera. They can certainly use devices already at home. Tablets and iPads will not be sufficient for distance learning.

    By now, you have already heard from your school principals about Back to School orientations. They have received the information from this questionnaire and will be in communication with you to arrange for you to get the items your child needs.

    School Lunch Parent Portal Registration
    We have moved to a new and improved program to make it easier for parents and guardians to  add funds to and monitor student spending on school meals, as well as to sign up for free or reduced price meals. Our program is called Titan. Please take a moment to register so that you can easily manage meal accounts. The apple icon on each school’s homepage (located under the photo gallery) links directly to the page where you can register for Titan: Managing Your Meal Account. Please sign up or apply for free meals today.

    Any student balances from My School Bucks have been transferred to Titan and can be viewed once an account has been created.

    School meals will be available daily at eight (8) designated school sites from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm. Students who have qualified for Free or Reduced price meals will be able to receive them for free or reduced price. Others will pay for meals. Please see attached flyer for details.

    Updating Contact Information
    Families should have received an email this week from “enrollment@lvjusd.org” that asks you to update contact information and agreements for each student. The email contained a unique code for each student as well as a link to the form, which can also be found at the top of each school’s website: Update Student Information in PowerSchool Enrollment.

    Completing this form with correct email and phone information is extremely important so that you will continue to receive emails, calls, and texts from our district. We also use this information to share student schedules and attendance with parents and guardians. Please complete by Monday 8/17. 

    If you have any questions about any of these items, please contact your school office by phone or email. Appointments are requested before you visit in person, as we follow current physical distancing guidelines of the Alameda County Public Health Department.

    You will be receiving additional information from your schools about access to Schoology and logging in for the first day of school.
