The process of reopening schools involves meeting criteria set forth by the State, County agencies such as the Alameda County Public Health Department, and the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District.
On February 25, 2021 our Board of Education voted unanimously to end school dismissal and open campuses to in-person learning for all grade levels starting March 22, 2021. Distance learning will continue for students whose families prefer that option.
An approved plan is required in order to reopen TK-5 schools in the Purple Tier when the positive COVID-19 case rate is <25 per 100,000 for 5 consecutive days. With an approved plan, middle and high schools may reopen after Alameda County reaches the Red Tier.

An approved plan was required in order to reopen schools in the Red Tier. The day after our plan was approved, Alameda County entered the Purple Tier, allowing only in-person instruction for high needs students using the Small Cohort Guidance.
