The Rancho Parent Community is an awesome one! The PTA is a direct partner in helping students see their potential become a reality. Rancho offers a wide range of programs spanning academics, athletics, science, arts, music, gardening, technology, and more. Many of these programs are directly supported and/or run entirely by the Rancho PTA. This is only possible because of the collaboration between the Rancho staff, students and parents.
Here are a few ways PTA sponsors Rancho:
- Boo Hoo Breakfast: PTA members welcome the new TK and kindergarten parents in the Rancho Garden with coffee and treats after they drop the students off at school on the first day. Please come by the Rancho Garden after you send your child to class!
- Family Fun Night: Rancho community building events occur throughout the year where families are invited to view a movie, play bingo, or get their groove on at the family dance.
- Family Carnival: This fun-filled afternoon includes carnival style games, prizes, food and more!
- Beautification Day: Rancho families come out in force with gardening gloves and tools to spruce up our school.
- Rancho Running Club: Rancho students earned the Governor’s Fitness Challenge in 2009 largely due to our running program. While many teachers include running our track during the school day, PTA organizes regular morning runs for parents, teachers and students on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8:00 AM (beginning in October).
- Coffee Corner/Family Fitness Friday: One Friday per month, plan to come to Rancho early to walk or run the track with your student from 8:00-8:25 AM. After the students go to class, stop by the picnic tables in front of the MPR for coffee and treats, courtesy of Rancho PTA!
- Casino Night: Our annual spring fundraiser in March raising over $24,000 at this single event toward library and technology support, field trips, assemblies and more!
