Ms. Tammy Rankin

Tammy Rankin is happy to return to Mendenhall Middle School to continue working with the many students and families she has been with for the past six years. In her most recent position as Smith Elementary principal, Rankin was proud of supporting staff in ensuring that all students’ needs were met academically and socially. She looks forward to continuing this work at Mendenhall. Rankin believes that forming strong partnerships between families and the school is an essential part of every student’s education, and she believes that it is her job to help students find a connection to the school community to ensure success. Rankin was born and raised in Livermore, attending LVJUSD schools from kindergarten through grade twelve. She earned a B.S. and M.S. from California State University, Hayward. Rankin has worked in the LVJUSD for 24 years, teaching at Livermore High School and Vineyard High School, and serving as an administrator for the last 18 years. She has served as the Dean of Guidance at Granada High School, vice principal at Junction Avenue Middle School (now K-8) and Mendenhall Middle School, and principal at Jackson Avenue Elementary and Smith Elementary.

Mr. Thomas Fletcher

Thomas earned his B.A. in Social Science at California State University, Sacramento and continued his education by earning an M.A. in Educational Leadership at California State University, East Bay.  Fletcher taught Civics and Geography at both LHS and GHS as well as sixth grade Core at East Avenue Middle School for over twenty years before moving into administration. During his time in the district he served as a leadership teacher, a department chair, a varisty coach, an Activities Director and an Athletic Director.  For the last five years, he has served as a Vice Principal at Livermore High School. Fletcher brings energy and enthusiasm to the position of vice principal. He is passionate about student-centered classrooms, providing authentic learning opportunities for students, and empowering students with additional voice and choice in their learning.
