All athletes must be CLEARED to participate in practice. Athletic clearance information can be found HERE
Game Schedule: Click HERE
Boys Volleyball Information:
Middle School Athletes who are interested in Mendenhall Volleyball should attend the optional Open Gyms to help prepare them for tryouts. Open Gyms are meant to be a fun opportunity for athletes to practice their skills. Coaches & High School Volunteers will be present to provide key demonstrations to help athletes improve their skills in a non-evaluative manner.
How Will Athletes Be Evaluated?
Each athlete will be given a Tryout Number that will be used to help identify who they are during the days of tryouts. Coaches will be evaluating their skills in the following areas: Passing, Setting, Serving, Hitting, & importantly Coachability. What do we mean by coachability? We are looking for athletes who are open and receptive to constructive criticism, have a positive attitude, are team players, and someone who demonstrates positive leadership skills.

Club Volleyball Athletes
Due to the Middle School Volleyball Season happening at the same time as many Club Volleyball Teams Season - there is generally a time conflict between the two. Most students will have to choose between Middle School Volleyball or Club Volleyball. Unfortunately - if you are going to miss multiple days of practices/matches, you will not be allowed to participate. Unlike the High School that follows CIF Regulations, where the High School Volleyball and Club Volleyball happen at different times, high school athletes are generally able to participate in both. However due to the time conflict, middle school athletes are generally unable to participate in both teams at the same time. At the Middle School level, this is not a regulated rule - should a middle school athlete make the team and can accommodate both their Club and Middle School Volleyball Team's schedule, then Great!
