Miss Dayana Albornoz
Welcome to our classroom here at Lawrence Elementary. It is my pleasure to be one of the vital parts of your child’s learning experiences this year. I know that I will bring creative ideas, an enthusiasm for learning, and a continued commitment towards the individual needs of my students. I have worked with children for 21 years. Thirteen of those years have been dedicated to the classroom. I have taught Kindergarten, second grade, third grade, and have spent most of my teaching career in fifth grade. This year will be my tenth year teaching this grade level.
I grew up in Walnut Creek where I graduated from Las Lomas High School. After graduation, I knew that I wanted to become a teacher. I received my bachelor's degree in Child Development and Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies along with my teaching credentials from Saint Mary's College of California. After some time, I returned to my alma mater to complete my Master's Degree in the Arts of Teaching. Education is a vital part of my life as I consider myself a lifelong learner.
In addition to my career, my family is very important to me as they have helped shape the person I am today. The greatest addition to our family has been my niece, Samantha. I try to spend most of my spare time with her enjoying every moment of her development. This summer, I had the pleasure to experience the "terrible twos" and boy does it really exist!
I am thrilled to have your child in my class this year! I thank you in advance for all of your support and cooperation. Remember, YOU!!, the parent, are your child’s first and foremost important teacher in life… I am honored to be able to assist you in this most important endeavor and responsibility.
