Mr. Watts
GREETINGS!
Mr. Watts has been an educator at Granada High School for 13 years now. During that time, he has been an English teacher and, for 10 plus years, been involved in the theatre program.
As an English teacher, he has instructed literally thousands of students, helping them work their way through novels such as The Great Gatsby or Catcher in the Rye or question the nature of humanity through short stories such as Kafka's The Metamorphosis or Crane's The Open Boat. In addition, students learn to be better communicator's through repeated reading and writing tasks which will help them develop their ability to share their thoughts in a logical and coherent manner.
As a theatre teacher, Mr. Watts has enjoyed helping students build confidence in public speaking and performing. Learning how to portray unique and full-realized characters, students work on scenes, then full acts, then even full length performances. In the past few years, he has directed numerous plays for the student body with such contemporary and historical classic works such as Our Town, Rounding Third, M*A*S*H, Bad Seed and many others.
