March is National Nutrition Month and a great way to kick start a plan for better health and nutrition for you and your family. The theme this year is "Personalize Your Plate" recognizing cultural diversity amongst individual food preferences and food availability.
Throughout the month of March we will be providing tips for healthier living and easy ways to add nutrition to your family menu. We will also provide you with some easy to make recipes that will pack a big punch when it comes to nutrition, and taste delicious for you and your family. For tips to get your children excited about healthy and nutritious cooking and eating, visit the EatRight.org website.
Child Nutrition Services is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals who are dedicated to students' health, well being, and their ability to learn. Our department serves students at all of our schools. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices. Meals, foods, and beverages sold and served at our schools meet state and federal requirements, which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We offer a variety of healthy breakfast and lunch menus that meet the nutrition needs of our students and energize them for learning.
